Here are some sad statistics from Abort73:

ANNUAL ABORTION STATISTICS

  • Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended; about 4 in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Twenty-two percent of all U.S. pregnancies end in abortion. (AGI)…

WHO HAS ABORTIONS?

  • In 2007, 84% of all abortions were performed on unmarried women (CDC).
  • Women between the ages of 20-24 obtained 33% of all abortions; women between 25-29 obtained 24% (CDC).
  • 50% of U.S. women obtaining abortions are younger than 25; women aged 20-24 obtain 33% of all U.S. abortions and teenagers obtain 17% (AGI).
  • In 2007, adolescents under 15 years obtained .05% of all abortions, but had the highest abortion ratio, 768 abortions for every 1,000 live births (CDC).
  • 47% of women who have abortions had at least one previous abortion (AGI).
  • At current rates, nearly one-third of American women will have an abortion (AGI)…

WHY ARE ABORTIONS PERFORMED?

  • On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 3/4 say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities; about 3/4 say they cannot afford a child; and 1/2 say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner (AGI)…

WHEN DO ABORTIONS OCCUR?

  • 88-92% of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation (AGI/CDC)…”

Likelihood of abortion:
An estimated 43% of all women will have at least 1 abortion by the time they are 45 years old. 47% of all abortions are performed on women who have had at least one previous abortion.”

As I have said before, the numbers don’t really mean anything because even one abortion is a murder and one murder is too much. What matters is, what are you doing about the number of annual, monthly, daily, abortions in your local area?

If left alone, the numbers will keep increasing. But there is hope. With groups like Live Action, Abort73, 40 Days for Life, the Pro-Life Alliance, and so many more, and more to come, are acting and really changing America for the better. The fight has only begun. At the moment the pro-life debate is a side issue in the main-stream media and in politics, we need to make it a major issue if you want to see miracles happen.

Praise be to the Great Physician for all Eternity!

There is no difference! Pre-born or unborn (whatever you want to call them) children are living souls that have a God-given chance at life. We have no right to take that away…

In 1973, in light of the Roe vs. Wade case, the Supreme Court of the USA declared that the banning of abortion in the USA is “unconstitutional” and therefore they lifted the ban and made abortion legal in all 50 states. Since that one Supreme Court decision that the banning of abortion was unconstitutional, the rate of recorded abortions has increased so much over the years.

Before the case of Roe vs. Wade the number of recorded “illegal” abortions in America was as follows: (Note- I found this information here: http://www.christianliferesources.com/?/library/view.php&articleid=1042)

Add this all up and you have about 52,008,665 recorded abortions since the year 1973! 52,008,665 abortions in the USA alone in only 33 years! This number varies a lot between different pro-life organizations, but keep in mind, whatever number you read is only the recorded abortions.

Here is another statistic graph by the group Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life about the USA abortions recorded since 1973 to 2008:

50,766,331 abortions 1973–2008

Reported abortions in the United States, by year (1973 to 2008)

(source: http://www.mccl.org/Page.aspx?pid=400)

The problem is not how many abortions have taken place. Even one abortion in the USA is too much for me. The problem is getting abortions banned and/or getting the amount of abortions down considerably, as in less than 1,000 abortions per year or even better no abortions at all!

 Here is some good news…

Between 2006 and 2007 there was a 2% decrease in the annual amount of abortions in 49 areas that reported. (The 2% here equals 18,752 babies that might otherwise have been aborted!) (Info found on the CDC website)

But the fight is just beginning…

I found this article that was last updated on 9/30/2011. Please read it here: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/abortion-statistics-in-america.html

In it the writer states that the amount of current annual abortions in the USA only is 1.4 Million abortions! 1.4 million babies are murdered legally in the USA before they are born! And about 46 million abortions are preformed around the world EVERY YEAR! 46 million babies are murdered, whether legally or not, annually!

Although you and I can’t stop all of those abortions every year in the whole world, that doesn’t give us a reason not to try. Start local. Find a group of friends and family who are pro-life, find an organization that seeks to end abortion, make your own group. Write, call, or go to your congressman, mayor, or governor, example the problem, your belief and stand point and ask them to help you end abortions. Write a book, blog, and or a newsletter. Go to local abortion clinics or hospitals and try, peacefully, to change to mind of the women who go in them. Be prepared with the needed information to change their minds. Pictures, testimonies, videos, books, or groups they can go to for help, etc. Whatever you do to help lower and end abortions in the USA… do something!
