According to this article the top 7 healthiest countries in the world are as follows:

1) Iceland
2) Japan
3) Sweden
4) Okinawa

In reading the article I found some important points that can be applied to everyone’s overall health.

From Finland (Scandinavia, Europe): Only 30 years ago Finland had the highest death rates in heart disease, which led the country to increase pro-health actions. “Smoking has been reduced significantly and fruit and vegetable intake has more than doubled.” According to WebMD, smoking can lead to heart disease. By quitting smoking, or at the very least reducing it, Finlanders have decreased the possibility of heart disease for themselves.
Along with that, Finlanders have increased fruit and veggie intake. Fruits and veggies have Vitamins C, E, and A (among many other things) that are the basic foundation of our immune systems and overall health.


From Sardinia (Europe): A region of Italy, Sardinia is an island of a close knit people. The many shepherds walk an average of 5 miles PER DAY. So few of us Americans can boost of this.
The diet of these shepherds includes mostly “whole grain flatbread, fava beans, tomatoes, greens, garlic, various fruits, olive oil and pecorino cheese from grass-fed sheep (high in Omega 3).” I can safely say none of those foods have GMOs and all of them are home-grown or from local farmers markets.
Omega 3 is very important for skin, eye, and brain health and has anti-cancer effects in the body. It is used also to decrease inflammation, fight against Cardiovascular Disease, and support the immune system.


From New Zealand (South-West Pacific Ocean): The New Zealanders enjoy many outdoor activities that are full of beneficial exercise, such as fishing, swimming, camping, and hiking. They eat freshly caught seafood (most of which they catch themselves) and locally grown organic fruits and veggies. Some these include kiwis, avocados, lettuce, apples, and plums.
Add the Vitamins C, A, and E from the fruits and veggies to the Omega 3 oils and proteins from the fresh caught seafood and you have a very, very strong immune system boosting formula of health.

From Okinawa (Asia, near/part of Japan): Said to have the world’s healthiest people, Okinawa locals eat tons home grown fruits and vegetables per day as well as fresh caught seafood and tofu. Many people of Okinawa live to be 110 years old (about 50 out of every 100,000 people live past 100)!
According to the article the people of Okinawa have low stress but rigorous daily activity.

From Sweden (Scandinavia, Europe): In the landscape like Sweden everyone practices outside exercise/activities daily. The Sweden diet is high in fish that is fresh caught and poached, fermented, smoked, and or dried instead of frying or cooking in oil.

From Japan (Asia): “Every meal in Japan looks like a piece of art. Food is so beautiful and so delicious and so simple,” fitness expert Harley Pasternak said to Empower News Magazine. “They are the largest consumer of fish in the world and of whole soy and of seaweed and green tea. When they are about 80 percent full, they stop and wait for about 10 minutes, then decide whether to keep going. And most times, they are full so they don’t need to keep eating more.”
Simply put; You should take time to eat, do not rush through mealtime and do not stuff yourself beyond repair.

From Iceland (Europe): Do to the colder weather, the Icelanders work out in the gym a lot, most likely more than the average American. Iceland’s cool clean air increases the health of the body through the lungs. Oxygen is one of the most important, if not the most important, ingredients needed for our bodies. If our oxygen is not clear, along with our water, than you can safely say that your insides are not clean either.

Overall, these locations had clean air (little or no pollution), had very good balances between working and living that helped to control stress and blood pressure levels, always ate an abundance of local fruits and veggies, and many ate fish instead of meat.

We certainly can learn a lot of them because, whether these countries known it or not, they are following almost all the time the diet that God has set for us.

“…One of the earliest truth messengers to feel the sting of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) attacks was Dr. Max Gerson, a German immigrant born October 18, 1881 in Wongrowitz, Germany. Gerson attended the Universities of Breslau, Wurzburg, Berlin, and Freiburg from 1901 to 1906. He then served as an intern at a number of hospitals and clinics throughout Germany.

In 1910, Dr. Gerson, who had suffered from severe migraine headaches for years, came across a book written by an Italian doctor who claimed that some migraine headaches could be relieved by a milk diet, while others could be relieved by a fresh-fruit-and-vegetable diet.

Gerson first tried the milk diet, but without success. He then put himself on the fruit-and-vegetable diet, with an emphasis on apples, both raw and cooked. In a short period of time, his migraines disappeared. He further experimented by adding salt and a variety of other substances to the fruits and vegetables, only to find that his migraines returned very quickly, sometimes within a half-hour.

After serving in World War I, Dr. Gerson set up practice in Bielefeld, Germany as an internist and specialist in nervous diseases. Expanding his experimentation with diet, he was successful in curing 446 out of 450 supposedly incurable cases of lupus (an autoimmune disorder characterized by skin lesions).

For his work in this area, Dr. Gerson was hopeful that he might earn the Nobel Prize for Medicine. To his disbelief, he instead was challenged by the German medical establishment and hauled into court. The charge was that he was not a specialist in skin disorders, and therefore his work in this area was in violation of the German medical code.

After having similar success with “incurable” tuberculosis, he again was challenged by the establishment medical community. Unfortunately, before he was able to prove that his natural diet therapy did, in fact, cure tuberculosis, Dr. Gerson, who was Jewish, had to flee his homeland because of the increasingly dangerous political situation.

After his escape from Germany, Dr. Gerson lived in Vienna and then moved to Ville d’Avray near Paris to become chief of staff of a sanatorium. Finally, after a short stay in England, he emigrated to the United States.

In New York, at age fifty-five, Dr. Gerson had to go to school with first and second graders to learn how to speak English, a prerequisite for his earning a medical license. (He received his license in January 1936 after passing the New York State Board examination.) After setting up practice in New York City, he continued his diet experiments with incurable arthritis and cancer patients. His success rate was astonishing even to him, and it made the medical establishment very uneasy.

On July 3, 1946, Dr. Gerson demonstrated his healing techniques before a U.S. Senate subcommittee headed by Senator Claude Pepper, bringing with him five cancer patients whom he had cured with his organic fruit-and-vegetable therapy. The AMA went berserk – to put it mildly.

In its November 16, 1946 edition, the Journal of the American Medical Association stated, “Fortunately for the American people, this presentation received little, if any, newspaper publicity.” Later, in its January 8, 1949 edition, the same publication declared, “There is no scientific evidence whatsoever to indicate that modifications in the dietary intake of food or other nutritional essentials are of any specific value in the control of cancer.”

The AMA pressured hospitals, laboratories, and other doctors not to do business with Dr. Gerson. This made it difficult for him to document his work, because he was prevented from bringing his patients to established medical facilities for testing.

The final blow, however, was when Dr. Gerson was invited to be a guest on a radio talk show hosted by the popular Long John Nebel. The show lasted for several hours, and the public’s response was overwhelming. The result? The radio network was threatened by the AMA, and Nebel was fired the next day.

Finally, on March 8, 1959, after years of harassment from the AMA and other segments of the establishment medical community, Dr. Max Gerson, the ultimate medical messenger, died of pneumonia.

In reflecting on Dr. Gerson’s work, Albert Schweitzer, the renowned doctor and humanitarian who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952 (and whose wife Gerson had cured of tuberculosis) said, “I see in him one of the most eminent medical geniuses in the history of medicine. …Unfortunately, he could not engage in scientific research or teach; and he was greatly impeded by adverse political conditions.

“In ordinary times he would have been able to expound his ideas for many years as a professor at one of the important German universities; would have taught pupils who could carry on his research and teachings; would have found recognition and encouragement. … All this was denied him.

“His was the hard lot of searching and working as an uprooted immigrant, to be challenged and stand as a fighter. We who knew and understood him admired him for working his way out of discouragement again and again, and for undertaking to conquer the obstacles.”

Dr. Gerson was the most hated kind of messenger, because the message he delivered threatened not only the incomes of doctors, but also of hospitals, clinics, and those involved in the manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals and surgical equipment. After all, if people ate healthy food, where would the medical community get its patients?

That’s why, long after the silencing of Dr. Gerson, corporate giants in the dairy, beef, tobacco, and pharmaceutical industries, along with the American Medical Association, continued to shoot down one medical messenger after another in an effort to repress the hated, profit-killing truth…”

Wongrowitz, Germany, 1881: Max Gerson is born.

 1909: Max Gerson graduates from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (English: University of Freiburg), whichhas been called by the Germans the “University of Excellence” because of all the famous minds who have passed through the university. Minds like David Daube and Friedrich August Hayek and many others who received Nobel prizes.

At age 28, the now Doctor Max Gerson began practicing medicine in Germany.

Dr Gerson suffered from many severe migraines these led him to look for a cure. He tried the “milk diet” and that did not work. This led him farther to finding his own cure. Dr Gerson tried his own fruit-and-vegetable diet, this was the building blocks of his famous Gerson therapy later on in life.

In 1958, Dr Gerson published a book called A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases.

Sadly in 1959, at the age of 78 (by the way the life expectancy of 1959 was about 68 years old on average for males), Dr Max Gerson died of what is said to have been pneumonia. Many people today believe that Dr Gerson died of poisoning, by the AMA or another organization of the time no one knows but the debate and investigations and very much in the background today.

Albert Schweitzer M.D., a Nobel prize winner, was Dr Gerson’s lifetime friend after Dr. Gerson’s therapy cured Schweitzer of his Type II diabetes, cured Albert’s daughter of a chronic skin condition, and saved the life of Albert’s wife, suffering from tuberculosis of the lung which had not responded to conventional treatment. He stated, “I see in him one of the most eminent medical geniuses in the history of medicine. …Unfortunately, he could not engage in scientific research or teach; and he was greatly impeded by adverse political conditions.

Dr Max Gerson, the “unsung hero of modern medicine,” the “miracle man,” or the “blessing from God” as I say. He truly was a blessing from God, whether or not he was a Christian, Lutheran, or Jew; he impacted his world in mighty ways and his healing methods continue to be practiced today through the Gerson Institute, which was founded by his daughter.

Everything has a color. From black to white to the colors of the rainbow and beyond colors are one of the best parts of creation. Color gives feeling and beauty. This of course includes food. Food has amazing amount of color, but is it real? Are the colors in our day-by-day foods really colors “from nature” or colors from a laboratory?

 In this modern age man creates color everyday for various purposes like paints, furniture, wallpaper, rugs, etc. but did you know man also create a lot of the color in your food? You might at this moment be eating man-made color! There is no problem with man creating color. God gave us the colors of creation and the ability to create art as part of His gifts to man. But man is sinful. Does man miss use his ability to create color in today’s age? The answer, I believe, is YES!

 Look at the ingredient list of any food or food topping and you might see one or more colors like Yellow #5, Red #3, Green #3, Blue #2, or Red #40. The color names usually have “FD&C” before each name, which stands for Food, Drug and Cosmetics.  Of course these colors can and are mixed to make other colors that have different names. The Food and Drug Administration controls what food colorings and dyes can be used in food as well as how much. Plus it is their job to protect us against any harmful colors, right? But how can colors be harmful?

 FD&C Red #40 is a very interesting color, one of the most common that I have seem around… maybe that is just because I look out for it. This is the real red part of food colors, unlike Red #3 that is pinker. What makes Red 40 interesting is its history.

 Red 40 was a replacement of FD&C Red #2 after the FDA found that color to be cancerous! Red 2 was fed to aged female rats and those rats developed cancer! Even though, according to the Time article of that time (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,945520,00.html) humans would have “to drink 7,500 12-oz. cans of soda pop containing Red No. 2 every day to reach the rats’ level of consumption” Red 2 was banned by the FDA and later replaced by Red #40. But is this replacement, or any of the current food colors better and safer than Red #2?

 The question now is whether or not FD&C Red #40 is better/healthier than Red 2? And to go even farther, whether or not any of the food dyes and colors are safe? This is a heavily debated topic in the natural and mainstream health industries. The main argument is that most of the food colorings cause problems in children’s brain development, which might lead to ADD or ADHD among other things.

 Here is what I have found about FD&C Red #40 only…

 Red 40 causes hyperactivity in young children as they are developing. This is a major problem today. This is also the first step toward disorders like ADD, ADHD, and the like. This is the biggest problem because hyperactivity is usually paired with learning impairment, irritability and or aggressiveness. Plus children are not the only people who are or can be effected. Teenagers, like myself, adults, and maybe even seniors all can be effected in some way by hyperactivity.

Red 40 can cause allergic reactions and allergies. For this reason alone I would ban this color! I know to many people who have allergies and suffer from poor health every season because of it. The less things that can cause allergies the better.

Two ingrediants in food dyes, including Red 40, are called benzidine and 4-aminobiphenyl. Remember how I said before that Red #2 was banned because it was linked to cancer in rats? Well, research has linked these two ingrediants to cancer as well! Yes, the very problem of Red 2 was banned and than replaced by basically its twin brother Red 40! Red 40 is a carcinogen; meaning it causes cancer.

 I’m sure this list will get a lot longer as time goes on. A very interesting quote directly from Wikipedia is the following…

 “In Europe, Allura Red AC {this is just another name for FD&C Red #40 as Wikipedia explains earlier in this article} is not recommended for consumption by children. It is banned in Denmark, Belgium, France and Switzerland, and was also banned in Sweden until the country joined the European Union in 1994. The European Union approves Allura Red AC as a food colorant, but EU countries’ local laws banning food colorants are preserved. In Norway, it was banned between 1978 and 2001, a period in which azo dyes were only legally used in alcoholic beverages and some fish products.
In the United States, Allura Red AC is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in cosmetics, drugs, and food. It is used in some tattoo inks and is used in many products, such as soft drinks, children’s medications, and cotton candy. On June 30, 2010, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) called for the FDA to ban Red 40. Until Red #40 is banned and taken off the market, which is a goal for many, the best thing to do is stay away from it. Read the labels and ingredient lists on all food, drugs, and cosmetics before buying. It might just safe you from hyperactivity, allergies, or even cancer!

Everything I have showed you about red 40 is true for most of the other seven legal food colors. This begs the biggest question – If the FDA banned Red 2 because it caused cancer in rats, than why legalize Red 40, which is linked directly to cancer as well as the other food dyes? Food for thought…

Biblical Health. biblical healthYour health is very important to God the Father. In 3 John 2 we read “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

 Have we as Christians ignored the biblical health principles that God has laid out? There are numerous scriptures relating to our bodies and health. When we look around and take a careful look at what people are putting in their bodies today we see people eating chemicals, colorings, salts, pastes and pastries, sugary sweets, alchohol, smoking cigarettes. The percentages of people with cancer and diabetes as well as numerous other ailments has been skyrocketing.  

In this site we go over the solution to our health woes. God gave man a diet in the beginning. He gave man herbs, fruits and nuts to eat. There was no meat since nothing died. When he did allow meat to be eaten they were not to eat the blood in it. (Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 3:17, Acts 15:20, 29)

TWO WORLD VIEWS

There are 2 ways to look at this world.

  1. The body is designed. It has many organs, veins, blood, heart, bones, joints, eyes, ears a reproductive system. We couldn’t design it better if we tried. 
  2. It all came together by chance and we are a chemical mess that somehow seems to have order.  

If we look at the world from the first perspective and we see that our body is designed, then this would tell us that there must be a designer. And since these bodies are designed they must run on certain fuels like any designed machine or vehicle. If we put the wrong petro into the gas tank of a car, it’s not going to run very well. 

If we look at the world from the second perspective it is likely that we will end up looking to try to put another chemical into our body that our body was not designed to ingest to try to throw off the chemical imbalance. Sometimes using things like chemical therapy or radiation treatment. 

The problem with these types of treatments is that the body has already been broken down through years of abuse and this is what has lead to the disease. And now more chemicals and radiation deteriorate the immune system even more and it becomes even more susceptible to disease. Whereas If the proper nutrients are put into the body, and practicality in regards to keeping that body in shape it will fight off the disease by itself as God has designed it to do.
